What is Inktober?

Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing on each day of the month.

Pioneered by Jake Parker in 2009, Inktober has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

This year, TWD is taking up this mammoth task but to make it more fun for you, each day, we shall post an ink drawing of a design term with expressive typography that will represent what it means.

Excited to begin? So are we!

Can you be a part of Inktober too?

Well, if you thought this challenge is only restricted to designers, think again!

We, at TWD, are releasing a list of all the design terms we'll be sketching in the coming month. But that shouldn't stop you from creating a little art of your own. We invite you to use the list mentioned here to make your own personal Inktober diary. Each time that we take pen to paper, we uncover something new about ourselves. Why not use Inktober as an excuse to do just that? You don't have to be an artist or a designer to be a part of this community. All you have to have is an open mind and a little ink!

Now go make something of wonderful your own. And don't forget to tag us when you do!
